b = gas spring distance from hinge
Gas spring force = F x L / b
Example:
Door weight = 38 kg (380 N)
Door center distance from hinge = 500 mm
Gas spring distance from hinge = 200 mm
Gas spring force = 380 x 500 / 200 = 950 N
Needed: 1 x 1000 N or 2 x 500 N gas springs
